Get a Uganda Work Permit
If your a foreign national and your planning to work in Uganda, You must ensure that you’re in possession of the relevant work permit.
For applicants whose intention it is to work in Uganda as employees -please note this is applicable whether the employment is for financial gain or not.applying for a Uganda Work Permit
When applying for a Uganda work permit the applicant must first make sure they apply under the correct category. There are currently 7 types of work permit in Uganda that can be applied for:
1. Class A and A2 work permit – government & diplomatic service and government contractors.
2. Class B work permit – investment in agriculture – For applicants who are investing into the agricultural industry.
3. Class C work permit – mining – For applicants who are intending to invest into the prospecting for minerals or mining in Uganda.
4. Class D work permit – business and trade – For applicants who intend to do conduct business or trade in Uganda.
5. Class E work permit – manufacturers – For applicants who intend establishing and investing in a manufacturing business in Uganda.
6. Class F work permit – professionals – For applicants that are members of prescribed professionals that will practice such profession in Uganda.
7. Class G1 and G2 work permit – volunteers, NGO workers, missionaries. For applicants who intend to carry out work in the capacity of a volunteer NGO worker or missionary.
Application Requirements for Getting a Uganda Work Permit Class G1
• Fill out the Entry Permit form.
• 2 passport size photos.
• Copy of passport.
• Copy NGO certificate.
• Criminal record report from home country.
• Covering letter.
• Appointment letter.
• Qualifications.
